Kitchen Cabinet Renovations- 3 Reasons To Follow Trends In Kitchens

Like clothing, there are trends in kitchen designs and kitchen
cabinets that make investing in your property make sense. Trends can be long or short, but when they are over, it can be devastating.
The trick is to find those trends that have longevity and which will remain popular over time.
Remember the old olive and burnt orange color themes that were popular in the 70's? Although there has been a resurgence in popularity with the colors, it's a sure look of a kitchen that hasn't been updated. The eighties and nineties were mave and mint, and more recently the trend has gone green.
Green, the color, and green (as in eco-friendly) are both very popular now and have influenced the updating of kitchens, including kitchen cabinets. An ecologically friendly home improvement is a wise investment for both the short term and the long term.
Instead of replacing cabinetry, many home owners are choosing instead to refinish or restore their existing cabinets. Three of the primary reasons our customers chose to refinish or restore their kitchen instead of replacing kitchen cabinets are:
1. It's 'green'. You are reutlizing the existing materials, and therefore, no trees have to be sacrificed to create the new cabinets.
2. It's fast. Typically restoring, refacing or refinishing are much faster processes than replacing.
3. It's less expensive. The cost to restore existing cabinets is far less than the cost to replace those cabinets.
New styles and finishes can give a kitchen an entirely new look in a short amount of time and much less than the cost of a new kitchen.
Other trends in kitchen remodels include the use of stainless appliances instead of enameled metals, wood flooring, especially bamboo, and engineered stone counter tops.
The number one color for renovated kitchens also is green.
What questions do you have about kitchen remodeling or renovation? Have you considered updating your cabinetry, and if so, what is the number one change that you would make in your kitchen?
