How To Create Unique One-Of-A-Kind Furniture By Refinishing

restore wooden furnitureThere is something to be said about old world craftmanship.  Furniture used to be made with real wood, with dovetail joints and deep drawers.  Much of the furniture that's mass produced today is just not the same calibre - pressboard pieces that are laminated and glued together, shallow drawers, plastic knobs.  They look good when you first get them, but the newer, less-expensive furniture just doesn't hold up.

A great way to find quality wooden furniture is to check out antique stores and swaps.   Now that the warm weather is here, there are also garage sales and flea markets that can yield unexpected treasure.  Even if that piece you are looking at is broken, don't count it out as a new novelty decor item for your home.

Many of the treasures that our customers bring in don't look like they are going to be treasures.  It's the finishing and repair that creates new life from old furniture.

Older furniture winds up being unique - most likely it was not mass produced in the first place, consequently with refinishing the furniture, it's going to be a one-of-a-kind find when you are done making it yours.  Dark furniture can be refinished to be light, light woods can be painted or stained dark, fabric can be replaced, cushions can be reupholstered.  The transformations are only limited by your imagination. When you are ready to create that 'original' piece of furniture, we have lots of ideas to help generate creativity.  Multiple stain options, books of fabrics, pictures of furniture we've re-vitalized will all be a terrific inspiration source.

Do you already have some ideas?  Is there a reason you haven't gotten started yet?  Give us a call and we can help you move forward in the process of re-creating a future heirloom for your family!
