Movie Theater Seating - A Reason You Don't Go To The Movies?

When it's hot outside, there is nothing like heading indoors to a cool, air-conditioned theater. But how does your perception of making that escape change when the movie theater is tired and un-kept? If you sit in a seat that's ripped, does it bother you? What about those unidentified stains on the seat? Ugh.
What is the likelihood that you would head back to that theater next time if you have a choice of theaters? Would you base your trip on the theater that has tired and sticky interiors, or would you head to the theater that has nice, clean and well upholstered seats?
Part of the escape of the movie has got to be the environment that you are in. Movie theaters are like caves - their darkened interior beckons us to relax and enjoy the experienc of becoming lost in a celluloid fantasy for a few hours. But if the environment is questionable, it affects the enjoyment and the ability to relax.
Have you been to the movies lately? What was the theater like? Did you find that the seating enhanced the experience or detracted from it?
